My journey into women's health and wellness is both deeply personal and professionally driven. From my teenage years into my 20s, I struggled with heavy bleeding, severe cramping, and persistent acne. When I voiced my concerns about a possible hormonal imbalance, many doctors dismissed my experiences, leaving me feeling unheard and frustrated.
Determined to understand and improve my health, I immersed myself in the study of natural health. While I believed I was following healthy practices by adhering to the 90s low-fat diet craze and engaging in intense workouts, I was unknowingly depleting my body and increasing my cortisol levels. This revelation was pivotal in redirecting my approach to wellness.
In 2007, I took a transformative step by enrolling at Bastyr University, where I earned a master’s degree in nutritional sciences. My education provided a solid foundation in nutrition, herbal science, cooking, and Ayurvedic medicine. As a result, my health began to turn around—my acne cleared, and my weight stabilized. However, I continued to experience heavy bleeding and cramping, signaling that there was still more to uncover about my hormonal health.
After having two children in my 30s and navigating various life stressors, I entered my 40s and began experiencing perimenopause. The familiar strategies for maintaining my weight and health no longer worked. I faced brain fog, severe PMS symptoms, and chronic fatigue, which prompted me to take a deep dive into understanding perimenopause.
Through extensive research and personal exploration, I discovered the intricate seasons of hormonal cycles and learned how to naturally balance hormones through lifestyle and diet. This blend of up-to-date science, modern natural medicine, and Eastern philosophy has shaped my unique approach to wellness.
Today, I specialize in helping women navigate perimenopause and embrace wellness uniquely tailored to their lifestyle, hormonal cycles, and nature's rhythms.
